Scyfik-OGK

About This Sketch

‘Scyfik-OGK’ is one of the central characters Scott features in his first full length short film taking place in the greater ‘IALFEC‘ universe. Scyfik-OGK will feature in many of the short-films Scott is planning to develop and this character study technique is a new format for a character profile which helps give creators a better understanding of their own character’s personalities before they write for them, by getting to know their most significant attributes.

The original sketch is created using coloured graphite pencil on cartridge paper.

The featured image of Scyfik-OGK was edited by DS Coremans using photoshop. Very little was done with the editing of this sketch other than making the text a little clearer and applying a light filter to boost the colours of the sketch.

This hybrid work between Scott and Darren is something new they have been working on together so that both of them can learn new skills, but also so that Scott can get a better sense of how these characters could be developed as he continues to work on his skills as an animator.

Key inspirations for Scott at the moment are from some of his favourite animated movies. From Dreamworks; the Shrek franchise, from Blue Sky Studios; the Ice Age franchise, and Disney in general, which recently celebrated its 100th anniversary as an animation studio.
