Pylrcon

About This Sketch
‘Pylrcon’ is a character development sketch of a creature designed for one of Scott’s current projects the ‘IALFEC‘ universe. Pylrcon is a reptilian creature that may appear in some of Scott’s planned animated stories, but for now Pylrcon has been placed in an alien jungle like environment to get a sense of what kinds of places we might find this character.

The original sketch is created using coloured graphite pencil on cartridge paper.
The featured image of Pylrcon was edited by DS Coremans using photoshop. The background for the image was removed and the colours of the image were boosted using a colour filter.
In the alternate images of Pylrcon, different colour filters were used to enhance Scott’s original design, and using Photoshop’s internal AI image generator background images were added to give Pylrcon a terrain that seemed to fit their character.
This hybrid work between Scott and Darren is something new they have been working on together so that both of them can learn new skills, but also so that Scott can get a better sense of how these characters could be developed as he continues to work on his skills as an animator.
Key inspirations for Scott at the moment are from some of his favourite animated movies. From Dreamworks; the Shrek franchise, from Blue Sky Studios; the Ice Age franchise, and Disney in general, which recently celebrated its 100th anniversary as an animation studio.
