P-Banes

About This Sketch
‘P-Banes’ is character study using a creature from one of Darren’s favourite video-games as inspiration. Scott and Darren have been working collaboratively for a few months on new creative projects, as well as creating things together they have been sharing the things which inspire their work with one another and P-Banes is the result of this shared worked.

The original sketch is created using coloured graphite pencil on cartridge paper.
The featured image of P-Banes was edited by DS Coremans using photoshop. The background for the image was removed and the colours of the image were inverted using a colour filter.
In the alternate images the colours of the images were blurred to make the creatures design stand out a little more, and a dark outline was added to make the sketch seem more defined.
This hybrid work between Scott and Darren is something new they have been working on together so that both of them can learn new skills, but also so that Scott can get a better sense of how these characters could be developed as he continues to work on his skills as an animator.
A key inspiration for this project was the computer game Clash Artifacts of Chaos, and the YuGiOh Duel Monsters series. YuGiOh is a series that both Scott and Darren both like.

The image which Scott adapted the P-Banes character from is of the character ‘Hermaeus Mora’ a deadric prince from the Bethesda game Skyrim.
