Rutachit
About This Sketch
‘Rutachit’ is one of the earlier designs from’s Scott’s development of Alien ‘Yuzzik’ creatures. Evolving from the original ‘IALFEC‘ characters Rutachit is one of Scott’s earlier attempts to incorporate a character into an activity or setting. This test was to try to imagine what a younger/child-like Yuzzik would be like. Scott chose to create a Yuzzik character playing with toys in a nursery style environment. This worked well as it allowed Scott to consider the emotion on a Yuzzik face and how a younger character might differ from a more developed ‘adult’ Yuzzik. The body segmentation was a big part of this design, and Scott enjoyed thinking about this character’s design as being more bug-like than earlier versions of similar characters.
A key inspiration for this project was the computer game Clash Artifacts of Chaos, and the YuGiOh Duel Monsters series.
Another of Scott’s favourite games which inspired the IALFEC creatures is Solar Ash.
